Accessibility Statement

How this site is built to be usable, what is still missing, and how to tell us when something breaks.

This Accessibility Statement was last updated on 19 September 2026 by Muhammad Ishaq Hassan, owner and operator of sifixit.com.

Questions about anything on this page can be sent to info@sifixit.com.

1. Our commitment

People contact this site after a flood, a mold problem or a death in the family. It should work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification or reduced motion settings.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

2. What has been built in

  • Semantic HTML with one clear heading structure per page
  • A skip link to the main content as the first item on every page
  • Visible focus outlines on every link, button and form field
  • Form labels tied to their fields, with required fields marked in text rather than colour alone
  • Status messages announced to screen readers when the request form updates
  • Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA for body text and interface elements
  • Layouts that reflow to a single column on small screens with no horizontal scrolling
  • Motion reduced automatically when the operating system requests it
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative artwork hidden from screen readers

3. Known gaps

We would rather list these than pretend they do not exist.

  • A full independent accessibility audit has not yet been carried out on this site.
  • Third-party components, such as the form plugin, are not fully under our control and may not meet the same standard.

4. Tell us what does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, email info@sifixit.com and describe the page and what happened. We will fix it and reply. If you cannot use the form, that email address is an alternative route to submitting a request.
