1. Agreement

By using sifixit.com or submitting a request through it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. What this service is, and what it is not

SiFixit is a referral service. We collect a description of your situation and pass it to an independent restoration company operating in your market.

We are not a restoration contractor. We do not extract water, dry structures, remove mold or handle biohazard material. We do not employ the technicians who attend your property, we do not supervise their work, and we do not set their prices.

Any contract for restoration work is between you and that provider. We are not a party to it.

3. Cost of using the site

Submitting a request is free for property owners and places you under no obligation to hire anyone. We are paid by restoration companies in our network for referrals. That commercial relationship is disclosed here so you can weigh it.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information. A wrong ZIP code sends your request to the wrong market.
  • Only submit a request for a property you own or are authorised to act for.
  • Verify the provider before work begins. Ask for their licence number, certificate of insurance and a written scope of work.
  • Read anything you sign, including assignment-of-benefits paperwork.
  • Deal with genuine emergencies through emergency services, not through this website.

5. What we do not guarantee

  • That a provider is available in your area at the time you submit
  • How quickly a provider will contact or attend
  • The price, quality, timing or outcome of any work carried out
  • That any particular provider remains in the network
  • That information on this site is complete or current for your specific property or policy

6. Information on this site is general

Pages covering water categories, drying, mold remediation, biohazard procedures, insurance and cost drivers are general educational information. They are not professional, legal, medical or insurance advice, and they do not describe your specific policy or property. For coverage questions, speak to your insurer or adjuster. For health questions, speak to a doctor.

7. Intellectual property

The text, layout, design and code of this site belong to the operator. You may read, print and share pages for personal use. Republishing the content commercially, or scraping it to build a competing site, is not permitted.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from a referral, or from work carried out by any provider, including property damage, cost overruns, delays, denied insurance claims or business interruption.
